Rubber Technician (Fiber Composite Technology)

Plastic technologists in fiber composite technology are experts in the industrial production of products from fiber composite materials. Following technical documents, you manufacture individual parts and assemble complex assemblies. You are also responsible for upgrading, operating, and optimizing complex production plants, such as computer-controlled machines of various kinds. Quality checks and documentation of work are also part of your professional tasks.

What will you learn?

  • As the basis of your career, you will learn how to work and process different materials, in particular the machining, forming and joining of plastics

  • The manufacture of components from different material components, especially fibre composites, is an essential part of the training

  • You will laminate components using polyester and epoxy resins and in combination with various reinforcing materials

  • You will learn how to mechanically process fibre composite components and assemble them into complex systems

  • You will gain insights into the series production of fibre composite components, work preparation and quality assurance

  • You will familiarise yourself with modern control technology and learn how to set up, operate and optimise computer-controlled machines and systems

  • The inspection and documentation of all work as well as the application of the relevant operational quality management systems and health, safety and environmental protection regulations are also an integral part of your training

What you need to bring

  • To train as a Rubber Technologist Specialising in Fibre Composite Technology, you should have completed school with a very good secondary school leaving certificate, a good intermediate school leaving certificate or a high school diploma

  • A personal interest in maths, physics and chemistry is a good prerequisite for the profession

  • You should also have strong manual skills and good spatial and technical imagination

  • A passion for materials & technology and a sense of technical interrelationships

  • Skilled craftsmanship

  • Diligence and accuracy

  • Good eyesight and no allergies (skin, respiratory organs)

  • The theoretical training at the vocational school in Radeberg requires a high level of personal commitment from you

  • You must fulfil the requirements for a valid background check (ZÜP) in accordance with § 7 of the German Aviation Security Act (LuftSiG). If you do not have a valid German background check or security check, this will be applied for together during the application process.
