Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) today announced that it has signed a contract with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) for the maintenance of NH90 helicopters, with the first batch of helicopters arriving at EFW’s Dresden site shortly.
Under the contract which has a term of seven years, EFW will provide maintenance services for the NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopter (TTH) operated by the German Army. The scope of work includes regular inspections, potential modifications and component repairs. The contract further strengthens EFW’s existing helicopter capabilities and underlines the strategic importance of its Dresden facility.
Direct Partnership with German Armed Forces
For the first time, EFW will act as a direct contractual partner to the Bundeswehr under this contract. This new role strengthens the company’s position in the military rotary-wing market and opens up additional opportunities for future contracts. EFW had previously carried out maintenance work on the NH90 as a subcontractor.

Note: The contract is expected to be formally signed during a public signing ceremony in Dresden by representatives of the Bundeswehr and EFW. Further details will be announced by EFW in due course.
